Politics and current affairs

Easter Island lies in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 3600 km off the Chilean coast. Discovered on Easter Day in 1722, it is famous for its huge monolithic statues called Moai remains of an ancient civilization. From an administrative point of view, it is part of the Chilean region of Valparaíso.
