Politics and current affairs

Montserrat, a British overseas territory since January 1967, is a volcanic island in the Leeward Islands, part of the Lesser Antilles. Since 1995, eruptions of the previously dormant Soufrière Hills volcano (914 m) have caused widespread damage, forcing some inhabitants to leave. The 2010 Montserrat Constitution Order revised the formation and functioning of the country’s government bodies.
